1. How do BearTek ™ Gloves work?
Just 3 simple steps:
1. Sync the glove and embedded Bluetooth control module to your phone the same way you pair any other Bluetooth device.
2. Tap the silver touchpad on the thumb to one of the 6 silver touch points along the first 3 fingers.
3. Simply Rock On!
Current functionality includes: MUSIC: play/pause, skip track, fast forward, and rewind PHONE: answer/hang-up, and the all-important REJECT: a call.ACTION CAMERA:VIDEO: Record/stop video, CHANGE MODES: video/single shot/burst, POWER ON/OFF
We say “current” functionality because the Bluetooth®/WiFi modules are designed to be upgradable for really cool future functions as we release them without having to buy new modules. 2. Are BearTek Gloves waterproof? What do I do if my glove gets wet?
BearTek Gloves are lined with premium Aquatex® liners to provide the expected warmth and water resistant protection of a premium sport glove. We know you’re never going to want to take them off, but you probably shouldn’t wear them in the shower. BearTek Gloves are made to come into contact with water and your hands will stay dry however the exterior can take on some moisture as they are designed with appropriate breathability and care should be taken to dry them immediately after use. BearTek Gloves include electrical components that may become damaged if left wet for too long. Common sense handling methods will keep your gloves and module in tip-top operating condition for years to come. 3. Can I operate the touch screen with my gloves on?
The silver conductive points on the gloves will operate the phone if absolutely necessary. However, BearTek has designed these gloves to avoid needing to touch your phone once the gloves are on. We designed a technology that keeps you connected, and your phone safe in your pocket.
4. Why won’t my glove sync with my Android phone (blackberry, windows phones)?
Android functionality is currently still in development. Due to the wide variety of android operating systems this development is taking longer to complete than for iOS devices. Fear not, we are working to resolve this as soon as possible and you will soon be able to operate your Android phones with Beartek Gloves. 5. Do I have to purchase more than one module?
There are currently threedesigns of BearTek Gloves. Our Moto gloves are designed for motorcycle or other power sports enthusiasts. We also have the SNOW version, for all your winter sport needs. And the Classis Winter Gloves are designed for everyday use, to take you from here to there. The two available modulesare interchangeable between all gloves offered by BearTek. FAQ
1. What do I do if my glove gets wet?
Beartek Gloves include electrical components which can corrode or become damaged if left wet for too long. We understand that gloves are going to come into contact with water, but care should be taken to dry them immediately after use. Remember, electrical dryers and other heated drying tools should not be used to accelerate the drying process. Remove the Bluetooth module and open the gloves as well as possible, ideally placing in front of a fan or in a well-ventilated area. Periodically check to ensure drying is progressing evenly throughout the glove, turn as necessary. If you are concerned about water damage to the Bluetooth module, place in a bowl of dry rice overnight. The rice can help to absorb the moisture.
2. Does the glove sync with Android?
Android operating systems have a wide variety of differences. Beartek Gloves do sync with these devices, but have limited capabilities.
3. Why won’t my glove sync with my Android phone (blackberry, windows phones)?
Android functionality is currently still in development. Fear not, we are working to resolve known issues as soon as possible so you can stay in the action while using your Beartek Gloves.
4. How do I know if my module is locked?
You will know the module has gone into lock mode when the use of touch points do not give you the desired result. To unlock your device simply press the power button once quickly, and resume the use of touch points.
5. I have multiple phones that I have synced with my glove. How do I know which one is currently synced?
Look at the Bluetooth connections on the phones. The one which indicates ‘connected’ to BearTek is the synced phone.
6. My module locks on its own?
Beartek Gloves are designed to lock after a few seconds so that accidental connection of the touch points does not interfere with your experience.
7. How can I tell if my phone/device has paired?
Both your Beartek Gloves and the phone will alert you to the fact that the device has paired. Your phone should say that Beartek Gloves are paired. The light on the Bluetooth module will steadily flash blue once the gloves have paired.
8. Where is the module?
The module is located in the gauntlet of the left hand glove, inside the water resistant zipper pouch.
9. When I hold to seek using Pandora (google play, others?) It does not work?
Most streaming music services do not permit fast forward, rewind, or previous track, so these actions will also not work with BearTek Gloves.
10. Can I pair my glove with my Bluetooth wireless headphones?
iOS devices allow you to pair multiple devices. Pair your wireless headphone/helmet to your iOS device as well as pairing your BearTek Gloves to your iOS device. You will have Bluetooth control of the iOS device while the audio automatically routes to your wireless headset.
11. Can I pair my glove with my vehicles Bluetooth audio system?
Your Beartek Gloves are able to pair most Bluetooth devices. If you sync your phone with your vehicle, your Beartek Gloves should be able to control the function.
12. My module does not appear to flash red (or blue) light.
Your Beartek Gloves may need to be recharged.
13. What is the best way to dry my glove/module?
Air-drying is the approved drying method for Beartek Gloves. The use of a fan or other non-heated device is also acceptable. Remember, do not use electrical devices to dry your glove such as hair dryers, microwaves, ovens, etc. A fan or well-ventilated area should suffice.
14. My battery is not holding charge?
Return your BearTek Sync Module to us for replacement.
15. My glove wont power on
Return your BearTek Sync Module to us for replacement.
16. How long does the module take to fully charge?
A full recharge may take 8 hours.
17. How long does the battery last before needing to be charged?
Beartek Gloves are designed to far outlive the use time than your other devices, at around 80 hours.
18. I am starting to see rust on the fingers of my glove.
Metal components are used in Beartek Gloves. Though they are coated with rust resistant materials, prolonged exposure to moisture as well as improper drying of your Beartek Gloves could result in rusting. Rest assured, your Beartek Gloves should still be able to function if proper care methods are implemented.
19. The ring finger does not work.
BearTek Gloves are designed to be modular and allow updated or different modules. While the current Bluetooth module does not have an assignment for those touchpoints, future module may – and when that happens, your gloves are already prepared to accept the additional functions.
20. The 2nd strip on the index finger does not work.

21. How do I reject an incoming call?
Holding the thumb pad to the top silver pad on the index finger for 2 seconds, after unlocking the glove, will result in call rejection function working.
22. How do I answer an incoming call?
Unlock the glove if it has been inactive for 8 or more seconds, and tap thumb to top touchpoint on the index finger.
23. How do I hang up a call that I am on?
Unlock the glove and tap the top touchpoint of the index finger.
24. Why does my audio sometimes stop for long periods of time?
Simply pair your iOS device with your BearTek Gloves and your wireless headset/helmet. Once both devices are paired with your device, audio functions will automatically route to the headset device.
